Master of Arts in Education with Distinction
Lancaster University, Lancaster UK
October 2008-September 2010
Dissertation: "Neoliberal Ideology and the Discourse of Publically Funded Higher Education: A Documentary Analysis of University Identity over Time"
My postgraduate studies were incredibly challenging and fulfulling. At all times, the course called for self-discipline and time management because of the demanding schedule of reading and writing. I happily found the material to be compelling and the process of evaluating research and developing arguments to be gratifying and exciting.
I returned to the USA from the UK after a year of coursework, began a full-time job, and researched for my dissertation in evenings and weekends. Balancing both responsibilities was intense, but I had developed a curiosity about public higher education in the recent political climate. Writing a dissertation was an exciting opportunity to collect and analyze data in an effort to answer my own questions about the topic. I remained focused, and submitted my dissertation one year later, successfully completing my degree.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics
Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
August 2004-May 2008
Semester Honors: Fall 2005, Spring 2007
My bachelor's degree directly influences the way I approach and solve problems every day. When faced with a complex proof, I have learned to first evaluate what I know and what solution I am working towards. With the start and finish points firmly established, I can determine how to derivate the solution with what I am given. This analytical approach not only helps me to implement solutions to small issues, but also establish and maintain a trajectory for long-term visions and goals when managing projects and assignments.
Apart from mathematics, my undergraduate curriculum provided opportunity to study foreign language, history, philosophy, and more. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to study educational psychology and multiculturalism in education. These courses developed my writing ability and fueled my decision to pursue a master's degree in education.
